Everyone loves a winner
“Everyone loves a winner,” but what if you were fractions away from being one? Can you leverage your news and procure opportunity? I know that I would like to share this great news with the world and trust that you can capitalize on your news; in one way or another! As a photographer and artist, I do what I do, because it’s my nature and I know no other way but to follow my compulsion to create, conceptualize, and explore.
After twenty-eight years of creating imagery and seeking to meld form and function; receiving honorable mentions is truly wonderful. Would I have liked to have received formal award titles for my work, absolutely. Entering one, two, or three competitions, is still only the tip of the “public awareness iceberg.” Entering your work into competitions and promotional arenas does cost money, which probably restricts and limits many talented artists and photographers from putting their work “out there.” But, you can also promote your work without much cost by leveraging your social and professional network, and aligning yourself with photography professionals, such as Photography Business Secrets by Beate Chelette. Beate has helped instill professional confidence, as well as, sound professional advice. I thank her for being a part of my professional evolution as a photographer and artist.
